Advent calendar - Garland Tree - Candy Canes and Baubles

This design is a stitchable advent calendar. The idea is that you stitch your template in advance so you are ready to add a daily addition during December, in the run up to Christmas. Each day you can visit my website and find a new tiny bauble to add to your tree, the daily baubles should only take about ten minutes to stitch, which hopefully won't be too much time to spare in busy December!

My advent calendars are designed to be displayed as you stitch if you wish, meaning you can watch your little tree fill up with decorations as the days roll by.

My sample was stitched on white 18 count aida (I used DMC 349 and 700). On 18 count this fills an 8-inch hoop but this should also scale up on 16 and 14 count fabric to fit into a 10-inch hoop. If you prefer a rectangular piece you could consider a hanging magnetic frame or something similar that can be hung to display as you stitch!

You can choose your own colours, each little bauble uses very little floss, so it is a good stash-raiding opportunity!
